Justin LeBlanc, College of Design, North Carolina State University
LeBlanc, fashion designer and finalist on Lifetime channel’s Project Runway, will discuss how his inspirations and ties to North Carolina work with fibers, fabrics, and technology to create fashion—much like designer Willie Otey Kay contributed to the art form of her time, transforming the dreams of brides and debutantes to reality through her handmade designs.
Music of the Carolinas: Amythyst Kiah
Sunday, February 14, 3 p.m.

Kiah is an alternative-country blues singer and songwriter who fuses traditional old-time music with R&B and country sounds from the 1950s, ’60s, and ’70s to create a contemporary style that leaves the original song’s integrity but results in a new powerful, soulful rendition.
