Longleaf Film Festival

While the museum explores stories from North Carolina’s past through exhibits and programs, the Longleaf Film Festival explored historic and contemporary stories from the state, the country, and the world through narrative and documentary movies. The inaugural Longleaf Film Festival took place on May 2, 2015, at the Museum of History in Raleigh, North Carolina.

This year’s Longleaf Film Festival took place in conjunction with Starring North Carolina!—a yearlong celebration of North Carolina’s rich heritage in filmmaking. The celebration includes Starring North Carolina!, an exhibit of the places, people, and productions that have made North Carolina home to more than 3,000 screen events over the last 100 years, as well as a film series of North Carolina–related movies and this festival.
