The Longleaf Film Festival is a first for the North Carolina Museum of History.
While the museum explores stories from North Carolina’s past through exhibits and programs, the Longleaf Film Festival will strive to explore historic and contemporary stories from the state, the country, and the world through narrative and documentary movies. The inaugural Longleaf Film Festival will take place on May 2, 2015, at the Museum of History in Raleigh, North Carolina.
This year’s Longleaf Film Festival will take place in conjunction with Starring North Carolina!—a yearlong celebration of North Carolina’s rich heritage in filmmaking. The celebration includes Starring North Carolina!, an exhibit of the places, people, and productions that have made North Carolina home to more than 3,000 screen events over the last 100 years, as well as a film series of North Carolina–related movies and this festival.
The exhibit is scheduled to open in November 2014; for more information, access the Starring North Carolina! exhibit web page or visit https://www.facebook.com/events/418669558244849/. Use the link menu in the sidebar to reach other relevant web pages.
