First Fridays at the Museum: Celebrating Jugtown Pottery

Friday, February 3, 5-9 p.m.

Come celebrate a century of fine pottery at the opening reception of "Collecting Carolina: 100 Years of Jugtown," a new lobby exhibit marking an important anniversary in the history of North Carolina pottery. This new case exhibit highlights the forms and glazes of the pottery's first century.

The event will also feature a short documentary film (15 mins.) and a panel discussion with the Owens family beginning at 7 p.m. Dr. Charles “Terry” Zug, well known for his book "Turners and Burners: Folk Potters of NC," will be the moderator at the event! Enjoy free samples of the latest beers and ales by Neuse River Brewing Company. The museum shop will be open and featuring a current collection of Jugtown pottery for sale. Now you can own your own piece of North Carolina history!
