The Associates host a wide array of events throughout the year, from local museum days to special fund-raisers. Members explore state and local history in a variety of settings across North Carolina.
Museum Days
Museum Days allow North Carolina Museum of History staff members to conduct educational programs in communities throughout the state. Events are normally planned in conjunction with local membership committees to help increase Associates membership. Programs may be related to the museum's collections, North Carolina history, or similar topics. A social, which gives participants an opportunity to talk informally with speakers, normally accompanies each program.
Young Associates and Special Events
The Museum of History Young Associates are a subgroup of the Associates, with ages ranging from 22 to 40ish. This group hosts parties and other events that help fund exhibitions and Museum Days across our state, raising awareness of North Carolina’s rich past.
