Adviser of the Year
The Tar Heel Junior Historian Association would like to acknowledge this year’s Adviser of the Year. This adviser has assisted her club in taking on a major community project this year. She is teaching junior historians the process of how to bring attention to a forgotten battlefield in their community by leading club members through the process of applying for a North Carolina Highway Historical Marker. Through this process, junior historians learn about gathering accurate facts and primary resources to support their request. In recognition of the ways she volunteers her time and inspires continued excellence in her club members, the Tar Heel Junior Historian Association proudly names Leslie Rivers, Bear Facts History Club, Parkwood Middle School, Monroe, as Adviser of the Year.
