Events and Programs Complement Exhibit

The N.C. Museum of History offers a bevy of programs to complement the exhibit ArtDuckO: Waterfowl Culture in North Carolina, opening Friday, March 21, in Raleigh. All programs are free, and parking is free on weekends.

Real ducks and ducklings of all shapes and sizes will arrive for the special event, Waddle With the Ducks Day, on Saturday, March 22, to celebrate the exhibit opening. What better way to welcome spring than to walk among ducks waddling around on Bicentennial Plaza, directly outside the museum.

During the event, watch award-winning decoy carver Vic Kirkman and award-winning duck call maker Ralph Jensen at work. Talk with them about their crafts, and then see hundreds of decoys and much more in the exhibit.

June’s large event, Family Day: North Carolina Coast: Working the Waters, will blend fun with education. On June 7, enjoy live entertainment, activities, crafts and foods celebrating the culture and heritage of the coast. Hear singer and storyteller Connie Mason, watch a crab pot maker, see a shad boat (the state boat) and more!

Take advantage of these and other programs at the N.C. Museum of History. There is something for all ages.
