Q: Do assignments have to be submitted in order?
A: No, you may complete and submit assignments in any
order. You may also submit them all together at the end of the course
if you prefer.
Q: I’m not teaching at present and don’t
know if I’ll need technology or reading credits for my next position.
If I complete the technology or reading requirements and later find that
I don’t need the credits, can I use them as regular content credit?
A: Yes. We advise participants in your situation to complete
the technology or reading assignments just in case they might need those
credits. It’s no extra work, and you can always use them as content
credit. The reverse, however, is not true: you cannot get technology or
reading CEUs without completing the required assignments.
Q: Do I need to specify that I’m pursuing the
technology or reading credit option?
A: No, just complete the assignments indicated in the
sessions, and you will receive the credits.
Q: My principal/LEA is reluctant to allow technology
or reading credits for the workshop. Can I get additional documentation
or an explanation along with my certificate of participation to prove
that the course contains significant technology/reading content?
A: Yes. If you need further verification, the museum
can provide you (or your principal or LEA directly) with a letter detailing
the technology or reading requirements. Your principal or LEA may also
contact Tricia Blakistone, who will answer questions or clarify the requirements.
Q: I’d like to alter an assignment to better fit
my needs in the classroom. May I do this?
A: Yes. We hope that participants will be able to use
the assignments in their classrooms, and so we encourage them to adapt
the assignments to their individual needs.
Q: I’ve gotten too busy to finish all of the workshop
assignments, but I’ve completed a few. Will I receive credit for
what I’ve done, or must I turn in all five assignments?
A: You will get credit for what you’ve completed.
Each assignment is worth eight contact hours (.8 CEU), so if you’ve
submitted two assignments, your certificate of participation will state
that you’ve earned sixteen contact hours. We encourage you to read
all of the workshop material even if you don’t complete the assignments.
Q: Even though participants can earn up to four CEUs,
I only need two (or one or three). Do I still have to complete all five
assignments? If not, does it matter which assignments I do?
A: No, you don’t have to complete all of them.
Each assignment is worth eight contact hours (.8 CEU), so if you need
two CEUs, you need complete only three assignments of your choosing. We
encourage you to read all of the material even if you don’t complete
the assignments.
