AIHC Virtual Education Day Presentations and Schedule

We hope you and your students enjoy these virtual programs and performances.

Registration is limited for all sessions, except for Music and Dance Performances. Presentations will be recorded and available as videos on demand as well. Please note: Registration links for Presentations CANNOT be shared. The presentations may be projected for classroom or other group viewing. All presentations and performances are free to attend. All sessions are subject to change.

Presentations

9:00 a.m.-9:45 a.m.

Senora Lynch, a member of the Haliwa-Saponi tribe, is well known for her handmade pottery, which is made using the tradition of hand-coiling white and red clay. She etches designs into each piece's surface, creating unique works of art that connect past and present.

10:00 a.m.-10:45 a.m.

Gwen Locklear, a member of the Lumbee Tribe, is an educator and gifted storyteller, sharing traditional folktales that resonate today.

11:00 a.m.-11:45 a.m.

Chi Shipman, a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, is an educator, storyteller, and cultural specialist. She regularly presents on Cherokee culture and legends.

Noon-12:45 p.m.

Martin Saniga, a member of the Sappony Tribe will present on southeastern clothing and the history of those pieces.

Music and Dancing LIVE!

9:30 a.m.-1:45 p.m.
Enjoy music and dancing performed by North Carolina American Indians. New Music and Dancing performances begin about every 45 minutes, beginning at 9:30 a.m. The last performance begins at 1:15 p.m. Watch anytime during the day! Auto-captioning is available for these performances.
