Coolidge: Rediscovering an American President Documentary Screening

Thursday, October 12, 7–9 p.m.

Documentary screening from 7 to 8:30 p.m., followed by a panel discussion from 8:30 to 9 p.m.

Join us for a special documentary screening and panel Q&A discussion of Coolidge: Rediscovering an American President, hosted by the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation. This year marks the 100th anniversary of Calvin Coolidge’s rise to the presidency. To date, Coolidge stands as perhaps America’s most misunderstood and neglected president. This new documentary reveals a leader who offers urgent lessons for our age of inflation, exploding debt, and partisan rancor.

About the documentary:

Directed by award-winning filmmaker Paul Sanderson, based on the book Coolidge by four-time New York Times bestseller Amity Shlaes, and featuring the work of economic commentator Steve Forbes, the documentary brings together a variety of perspectives on the impact that Coolidge made and what his model of leadership offers for modern times.

About the panel Q&A session:

After the screening of the documentary, we will host a panel Q&A session. The panel will include:

Michael Munger

Michael Munger is the director of the philosophy, politics, and economics program at Duke University. He has taught at UNC–Chapel Hill, the University of Texas, and Dartmouth College. Before that, Munger worked at the US Federal Trade Commission in DC.
